Lockerley School was founded in 1870, and being a Church of England School, retains strong links with the village church of St. John's. The school is divided into four classes: Reception age 4 and 5, Class 1 age 5 - 7, Lower Juniors age 7 - 9 and Upper Juniors 9 - 11 years. Class sizes are small throughout the school and progress is flexible to meet the individual child's needs. |

Our recent Ofsted inspection (December 2011) judged the school as Good and quoted one of the many positive parent comments they had received:
"A truly lovely school that encourages each and every child to flourish. It provides a warm and happy environment, promotes thoughtfulness between pupils and makes learning good fun."
The report stated: "The school gives excellent priority to its care, guidance and support of pupils."
"..it continues to provide a stimulating and purposeful environment in which pupils achieve well in both their personal and academic development."
"..significant numbers of pupils throughout the school working at levels that are above national expectations."
"The curriculum is imaginative and creative and has been organised well to meet the needs and interests of the pupils."
